Chartered on March 16,1920, 12th District PTA is comprised of eight councils that connect PTAs throughout Ventura County. The District welcomed the 2009 ~ 2010 school year with 122 PTA units and nearly 35,000 members, all of them affiliated with the California State PTA and National PTA.

The 12th District PTA, through its elected Board of Managers, serves PTA members, units, and councils throughout Ventura County and in the communities of Oak Park and Calabasas in western in Los Angeles County. It is responsible for advising and chartering new units, training officers and committee members, and sponsoring educational programs during the school year.

12th District PTA also coordinates the district-wide National PTA Reflections Program and awards presentation, presents an annual training event called Mini-Convention each June, and provides convention orientation and hospitality in conjunction with the annual California State PTA Convention.

The 12th District PTA Board of Managers and its PTA council presidents meet monthly during the school year. 

The 12th district Board of Managers stays connected and provides its leaders with important information, updates, and deadlines through a monthly e-mail alert program, The Poinsettia Page.
